I Believe in Rainbows

I got the idea for I Believe in Rainbows after being asked to sing at my three year-old nephew's birthday party.  The theme of this gathering was trains, trains, and more trains! I didn't know any good train songs for kids, but we tripped over a few verses anyway.  The kids and I had a great time despite my ignorance, and I made up my mind then and there that I wanted to write some children's music. Within a couple of months I had written most of the songs for I Believe in Rainbows.

The songs on this recording reflect my best recollections of what it means to have the imagination and innocence of a child. Slumberland Train is about a magic train that can take children anywhere...but only when they close their eyes. Not Me!, the favorite among kids and adults, features two little ghosts that, according to two children, are always messing up the house. The title song, I Believe in Rainbows is idealistic in nature and reflects the soul of a child that I believe lives within all of us. Graveyard Tanner is a song I wrote about our family dog who thinks he's all bad and stuff... but we know better.

I Believe in Rainbows comes with an 8.5 x 11 lyric book featuring beautiful hand drawings by Linda Gillespie.

This  is one of the 9 drawings by Linda Gillespie that are included with I believe in Rainbows.
